Welcome to the first NCI Minute for 2023. The start to the year has certainly thrown some challenges our way. We were already bracing for a shift in business conditions toward a recession but the Auckland Floods and Cyclone Gabrielle have overshadowed this and our thoughts are with all of the people and businesses impacted.
Reflecting on some statistics we regularly review at NCI – figures showing incoming claims, collections and overdue data all rising towards the end of 2022 – led to a presentation/webinar called “La Insolvo”, a take on the insolvency weather patterns currently being experienced and being forecast. Please note there was no correlation between the title of this and our own recent weather events – this was purely coincidental!

NCI in New Zealand have been growing recently, having welcomed new team members in both the NCI North and South Island offices. Our new team members would be more than happy to speak with you about NCI and our product offerings – get in touch!
Excitingly we were able to get the whole team together recently to take part in raising money for the SPCA and took part in the Southern Cross Round at The Bays in Auckland. It turned out to be a great day with everyone taking part.
I am writing this on International Women’s Day where the theme is Embrace Equality. As I am considering a purple cupcake, I am mentally thanking all of the amazing female colleagues, mentors, partners, friends and fellow leaders I have or have had the pleasure of working with – I hope you are celebrating your achievements today.
